Celebrate America’s Unique Musical Contribution to the World!

Please join us as the Mines Jazz Band Combo D make their first appearance at the Concert Series. Jazz music is truly a unique American art form. Originating in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in New Orleans from its African-American communities, jazz music evolved from ragtime and blues to swing, bebop, cool jazz and free form styles. Jazz music features degrees of improvisation, syncopation, rhythm and polyphonic ensemble playing. The Mines Jazz Ensemble Program provides opportunities for students to participate in a musical ensemble in a jazz big band format.

Bring a friend, your brown bag lunch and help support Mines performing artists! Hot and cold beverages provided.
