Date:
Friday, November 30, 2018
Time:
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location:
Arthur Lakes Library: Boettcher Room

The Mines Recorder Group of Ancient Aires is new to the Concert Series this year and will be sharing the beautiful and sweet clear tones of Medieval and Renaissance Recorder music with the Mines Community. Beginning in the Middle Ages, sacred and secular recorder music was learned and played by ear.

With the invention of the printing press, music printing popularized recorder music through the churches and royal courts of Europe. The group includes Sandrine Ricote, Research Professor Mechanical Engineering; Todd Ruskell, Teaching Professor Physics; Meridee Cecil, Adjunct Instructor LAIS and Ed Cecil, University Emeritus Physics Professor.
